Medical Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Medical acupuncture is an effective treatment approach aimed at reducing pain, improving function and increasing muscle activation. During this treatment, a thin, single use needle is carefully guided into the skin and specific tissues. The needle stimulates the release of the body's own painkillers, such as endorphins. Acupuncture also activates peripheral nerves to block pain signals travelling through the spinal cord known as the “gate control theory”. By shutting these “gates” down, you can eliminate the pain.

Once the needles are inserted, they can be stimulated manually or by electrical stimulation.

Acupuncture is very effective at treating many conditions including, but not limited, to the following

-tennis elbow
-headaches
-osteoarthritis
-neck and upper back pain
-stress/tension
-low back pain
-golfer's elbow
-rotator cuff tendinopathy
-nerve entrapment syndromes
